developmental editing / book coach

I’m available for developmental editing and coaching on a case-by-case basis. I can offer consultations on getting your book from the privacy of your beat-up laptop to reading audiences, large and small. I can help you identify and think through your plot and character problems.

In addition to being a mother, I teach creative writing at the University of San Francisco and St. Mary’s College in California and mentor in the Reese’s Book Club LitUp program. I am also working on my third and fourth books.

I collaborate with writers at all stages. My approach is encouraging, hopeful, specific, and practical, and I work best with people who have a sense of humor. I am open to all character-driven stories and I’m particularly interested in novels and non-fiction that centers the experiences of women and people of color, genre-crossing books that defy convention, funny stuff, and a good ol’ fashion tearjerker.
